Outperformers included energy, managed care, hospitals, MedTech, banks (particularly regionals), insurers, payments, rails, food/beverage, HPCs and telecom. The Treasury market was closed for the holiday. The dollar index was up 0.4%, gold finished down 0.6%, silver was down 0.9%, bitcoin futures were up 0.5% though came off best levels, and WTI crude settled up 2.1%, near session highs. On the Iran track, Tehran is reviewing a US counterproposal on terms for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, but negotiations remain stalled over Washington's insistence on prioritizing Iran's nuclear program versus Tehran's demand for an immediate strait reopening (Reuters). Iran separately offered to reopen the strait within seven days if the US accepted its demands, including release of frozen assets, lifting of oil sanctions and ending the naval blockade, and called the US re- sponse insufficient, while the IRGC claimed to have hit another tanker transiting the strait and vowed to continue strikes against ships (Reuters). Diesel eases on the Russia deal and ceasefire claim: Global diesel prices were lower Monday after President Trump announced on Sunday an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine (FT), following Friday's agreement with Moscow on Russian diesel.
