Synopsis • US equities ended higher in Friday trading, rallying a bit into the close. Software was the standout on earnings. Big tech was mostly higher. Other outperformers included Internet, semis, industrial metals, E&Cs, homebuilders, managed care, trucking, auto suppliers, and cosmetics. Laggards included insurers, payments, credit cards, airlines, casinos, hotels, restaurants, grocers/staples retailers, and waste. Treasuries were firmer with yields down 4-5 bp at short end. Dollar index off 0.4%. Gold finished 2.3% higher, up over 7% this week. Silver was up 3.1%. Bitcoin futures up 0.8%. WTI crude settle up 1.2%, though turned negative late afternoon on report SoH deal is nearing. • NET beat and raised with accelerating organic growth guidance and AI tailwind highlights. ABNB beat and raised with focus on strong room nights growth, hotel outperformance, AI execution boost. MNST takeaways highlighted GM strength with product mix a tailwind; pricing and July trends other positives. VST adjusted EBITDA better but FY guidance only reaffirmed. TTWO results better but next-Q bookings guidance below. MCHP beat and raised with DC and design wins highlights. TWLO broadly better with accelerating organic growth a focus. TEAM a huge gainer on AI monetization dynamics. DKNG EBITDA missed. LYFT results better than feared with NA ride share acceleration. AKAM weaker despite boost from large CIS deal. CART boosted by continued GTV accelerations, strongest customer adds since 2022, and AI contribution. TTD missed and called out auto macro headwinds. momentum. WEN comp decline steeper than expected, cut dividend, withdrew 2026 outlook. Beyond earnings, DFH to acquire BZH in a $2.2B deal, including debt. CELH higher after Rockstar Energy founder disclosed ~4.7% stake in company, desire to become CEO.

Macro • Bad news is good news dynamics also in play following weak July NFP, with September rate-hike odds down 10pp+ to ~44%. Software earnings were another bright spot. Oil logged a sharp weekly decline as expectations for a near-term SoH reopening deal persist. Latest headlines point to Oman-Iran progress, with a US official saying a deal is expected soon and would see the US lift its blockade of Iranian ports. Earnings calendar gets much quieter next week before the shift to the Jul Q reporters though macro in focus with July CPI, PPI and retail sales. • July employment report showed a headline jobs decrease of 23K against consensus for a 80K gain. The May and June reports were revised down by a combined 103K. The unemployment rate unexpectedly dropped to 4.1% (with another downtick in the participation rate). Average hourly earnings were up 0.1%, cooler than June's 0.3% (which was also the consensus). Elsewhere, NY Fed's July SCE showed household inflation expectations fell slightly at short-term horizon and remained unchanged at medium- and longer-term. More high- profile data next week with July CPI on Wednesday, PPI on Thursday and retail sales on Friday. Core CPI expected to increase 0.2% m/m and 2.5% y/y. In addition, Treasury selling $58B of 3-year notes on Tuesday, $42B of 10-year notes on Wednesday and $25B of 30-year bonds on Thursday.
